This course involves a series of 3-hour classes with instruction in throwing on the potter’s wheel, and trimming wheel-thrown work. Hand-building techniques are part of the course as well: slab-built forms and pinch/coil methods are covered.

Decorating and glazing using a variety of techniques and materials round out the process. You experience making several pieces using different techniques from start to finish!

The 8 week course fee of $598.23 (plus HST) includes all tools, clay, decorating materials and glazes, as well as firing of all work made during the class session. No further fees are charged. Available materials are quite varied, and offer a wide range of colour and finishing possibilities.

Shorter courses are offered occasionally throughout the year, and are priced in accordance with their lengths.

Participants are given different glaze colours to choose from to finish their pieces. We take care of the smoothing, glazing and firing of all pieces. Everything is ready for pick-up three to four weeks after the event.
